A COURSE on Birdwatching for Absolute Beginners will be held at the Upton Warren Nature Reserve next Saturday (May 30).

The session, from 10am to 3pm, will be led by ornithologist and Worcestershire Wildlife Trust trustee Roger Pannell.

Participants will find out how to gain confidence in identifying common birds, where to go to watch birds and how to choose the right books and equipment for the task.

Upton Warren is fantastic for wading birds and waterfowl, although those who go along will see a range of other birds too.

May is a great time to be there as spring migration is in full swing and anything could turn up.

The course costs £20, participants should take lunch and visit http://www.worcswildlifetrust.co.uk/courses for more information.
