Charity gig to raise money for Macmillan

A CHARITY gig to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support will be held at a Bromsgrove pub.

The Random Band will perform at 9pm at The Marlbrook tomorrow (Saturday) and, although admission is free, it is hoped donations will be made to the charity and there will also be a raffle and fund-raising activities on the night.

The event coincides with the tenth anniversary of Wizzafest which this year raised £5,020 for the cause when more than 1,500 visitors went along. A further £1,865 was collected with warm-up events in partnership with Emma Skipp and Friends, taking the total to £6,885.

Wizzafest 2015 will take place between July 23 and 26 next year.

Emma Willcock said: “Worcestershire is very lucky to have three information centres in the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, The Alexandra and Kidderminster Hospital.

“Worcester and Redditch CAB office salso have a paid Macmillan worker to help out with benefits and grants.

“All this costs money so we need you to support us at the Marlbrook on October 11.”
