Charford Co-op raises cash for Fairtrade

FAIRTRADE Bromsgrove has welcomed £500 funding from the Co-op in Charford.

The much-needed cash will be put towards ensuring the town retains the Fairtrade status it was granted in August.

The campaign saw businesses, schools, churches and other organisations all become part of the Fairtrade movement and culminated in a 26-page application being sent to the Fairtrade Foundation that detailed everything that had been done in the town whilst striving to attain the status.

Art Lavelle, from the Fairtrade Bromsgrove campaign group, said they were very grateful for the donation and added: “The group continues to campaign to spread the word on Fairtrade and is focussing on recruiting more local cafes to the campaign as well as local firms.”
