THIS CCTV picture has been released in connection with the robbery of a bookmakers’ in Northfield.

It happened on February 24 at William Hill on Bristol Road South when two raiders burst in.

One was armed with a handgun and the other with a knife and they threatened a male member of staff. He suffered a cut to his head when the cash tin was thrown at his face.

They then moved on to rob two more in Kings Norton – Betfred on Pershore Road the same day and William Hill on The Green on February 27.

Armed robberies were also carried out at two more bookies – one at Ladbrokes on Redditch Road, Kings Norton on the evening of February 17 and at Ladbrokes, Alvechurch Road, West Heath, the following day.

As well as the knife and handgun, a baseball bat was also used to threaten staff.

Det Sg Ian Tomlinson, from West Midlands CID, said they were linking all five robberies and cash was stolen in all of them.

“Staff at these bookmakers have been left very shaken by what’s happened to them and it’s imperative we find the people responsible.”

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
