Catshill dog owners reminded to clean up after pets

A TIMELY reminder was given to dog owners in Catshill who fail to clean up after their pets.

The words ‘Mucky pup – Clean it Up’ – the name of Bromsgrove District Council’s poop-scoop campaign – were stenciled in bright green letters on a path at one of the village’s hot spots.

Catshill Meadow Group and council officers went to Catshill Meadow this week to highlight the problem and urge people to pick up the poo.

Coun Mark Bullivant, whose portfolio covers Environmental Services, said: “It’s not just about the health risks which dog-fouling poses, it is about having pride in where you live.

“And how can residents feel proud when the pavements and public spaces are littered with faeces?”

The stencil will eventually wear off over time and it is hoped that this campaign can be put forward in other areas across Bromsgrove.
