A GARDEN party at Burcot Grange residential home has raised £730 for Blackwell First School.
A total of 250 invites were sent out to residents of the home, their family and friends, neighbours, WI groups, local churches, Blackwell First School and families who have had people at Burcot Grange.
More than 200 guests went along for a fun-filled day which included a tombola, ran by Blackwell First School representatives, Burcot shortbread biscuits, guess the weight of the cake, 20-minute yoga sessions, a raffle and music from a three piece jazz band.
Salmon and cucumber sandwiches were served, along with coffee cake, carrot cake, a Victoria sponge, creamed meringues, strawberries and cream, tea, coffee and squash.
There was also a stall where visitors could find out about the home’s redevelopment.
Burcot Grange manager Vicky Osborne spoke to people on the day and said they received some fantastic feedback and it was great to raise so much for the school.
The weather was kind to us and there was a great atmosphere as we all recognised people from the past, present and hopefully the future,” she added.
