A BROMSGROVE entrepreneur will appear on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show after being called upon for expertise in car cleaning.

Stuart Porter, of Cofton Hackett, will be making his debut on the popular program representing his business, The Clean Car Company, and showing his old fashioned method of getting vehicles sparkling.

The 41-year-old started the venture nine years ago and got the call from producers completely out of the blue. He spent a day filming with the presenters for the show, which is due to air in the next month but the exact date is not yet decided.

Mr Porter said he was surprised to get the invitation out of all the companies in Birmingham.

“It was a shock,” he said. “I even had to Google the number just to make sure it wasn’t someone having me on.

“I’m quite nervous for the actual showing. I’m not one to be at the forefront.”

Mr Porter cleans and valets cars from the normal everyday vehicles to those worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

“My typical week can go from cleaning mould off of a Ford KA to doing a full valet on £200,000 Rolls Royce.”

The businessman has a love of cars and said he is delighted to be able to work with them every day.

“One of my fondest memories is with my old man teaching me how to change a wheel when the wheels were bigger than me.”
