THE LANDLORD of the town’s first ever micropub is celebrating after being named Pub of the Season by Redditch and Bromsgrove CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).

Terry Bacon opened the Little Ale House on Worcester Road on October 11.

The micropub, which currently boasts five real ales, five ciders and a perry, is unlike other venues – it has no jukebox, no live music and no fruit machines and its layout is aimed at encouraging people to talk and drink good quality beer.

As the focus is on the beer, everything is tapped straight from barrels, as is done at beer festivals.

Terry told The Standard: “For the time I have been open it is incredible.

“I’m so pleased with the support everybody has given me. It’s a great start and the pub has been very well-received.”

The Little Ale House is open from 12midday to 10pm everyday.
