THE NEWLY-revamped YMCA store has been officially relaunched by Bromsgrove’s Civic Head.

Coun John Ruck cut the ribbon to celebrate the shop’s new look and had a mooch around before he spoke with staff to see what support he could offer the charity.

Manager Karen Harding said thanks to the kind donations of residents and volunteers, who provided all the necessary decorating supplies, the branch looked completely different.

“He was really down to earth and compassionate about the cause.

“He is going to point council officials in our direction as well as homeless people in need of help from the YMCA.” she added.

Resident Fred Stanley, who told Coun Ruck about the store and the good work it did, said he thought the YMCA had a wonderful set-up and deserved more support and recognition.

“I would like to thank Coun Ruck for attending the event at very short notice.

“The YMCA is so important to the local community.”
