TWO TEENAGERS’ perfect poetry has wowed the judges of a county-wide competition.
Eden Peppercorn, 15, from Bromsgrove, and Grace McDonnell, 15, from Hollywood were named runners up in the annual Worcestershire Young Poet Laureate competition.
The pair, both from Woodrush Academy, took part with 12 other young people aged between 13 and 19, and performed two poems, one on the subject of ‘Heroes and Inspiration’ and another one of their choice.
The final round took place in front of a live audience at The Hive, in Worcester.
One of the judges was Laura Dedicoat, Worcestershire’s first Young Poet Laureate, who presented certificates to the runners-up and other finalists.
Coun Lucy Hodgson, responsible for localism and communities, said: “Yet again, the standard of entries was incredible.
“The Young Poet Laureate continues to showcase the amazing talents of our young people in Worcestershire.”
