Bromsgrove teens do charity 24-bike ride

A GROUP of Bromsgrove teens will be embarking on a 24-hour bike ride challenge to raise money for the Primrose Hospice.

In total 24 people, between the ages of 15 and 17, will be taking part in the event today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday).

The teens have organised the event as part of their National Citizen Service (NCS) project. NCS is a four-week programme to help young people learn the skills they need to find work.

The group attempt the challenge with three static exercises bikes outside New Look, High Street, where they will also be selling cakes.

One participant Jennifer Deakin-Hough said they would be there all day and were still trying to find a place to go overnight to continue the ride.

They have set a £500 target which will be matched by Barclays in Bromsgrove if they reached that amount.

Jennifer said: “It is going to be tiring but I am really looking forward to it because we are going to be raising money for such an amazing charity.”
