STROKE survivors and their families enjoyed a canal trip, thanks to the Bromsgrove Lions and Anglo Welsh Waterworks.

The boat ride, which took place last Wednesday (June 10), saw the group travel from Tardebigge Wharf along the Worcester and Birmingham Canal.

Johanne Hughes, from Bromsgrove’s Life After Stroke Centre where the group is based, said: “We are so thankful to Anglo Welsh and Bromsgrove Lions for all their support.

“A stroke can have a huge impact on someone’s life and this group really demonstrates the power of stroke survivors.”

The Lions, along with Morrisons supermarket in Rubery, also organised a picnic for survivors and their families.

Anglo Waterworks supplied its boat Emma for the event.
