A TOTAL of £1,300 was collected for Macmillan Cancer Support when staff from the town’s Thomas Horton LLP solicitors and their families and friends embarked on a walk from Bromsgrove to Worcester.
More than 30 people took part in the trek from the railway station, along the canal towpaths, to Thomas Horton’s Worcester office.
Tina Circus, Thomas Horton’s head of wills, trusts and probate, was the driving force behind the sponsored walk.
She said: “During the last few months we’ve all been touched by the strength of a close colleague who is fighting cancer.
“We decided between us that we wanted to both recognise her strength and determination as well as raise funds for the local Macmillan nurses, based at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, which is giving her so much support.”
She added the sponsored walk was a great way to include as many people as possible in the fund-raising and said the amount raised was fantastic.
“The weather was glorious on the day and we were all supported by friends and family of all ages, as well as a few canine comrades.” she said.
