THE BROMSGROVE Screwfix team have been going an extra mile — and many more — for charity.
Staff from the town’s store took part in a Tour de Screwfix which is a mammoth 5,500 mile national cycle relay in aid of The Screwfix Foundation.
The charity riders across the country will be hopping on their bikes over an eight-week period with the aim of raising £100,000.
The money will be used to support projects to fix, repair, maintain and improve properties and facilities for people in need across UK.
A total of 800 Screwfix staff took part in the big cycle to mark the opening of the company’s 400th store.
The Screwfix Foundation is also now calling out for charities in and around Bromsgrove to apply for a share of the funds raised by Tour de Screwfix. The Bromsgrove and Redditch team was made up of Sara Freeman and Tina Wright, who covered 11.4 miles.
Tina said: “We really enjoyed taking part in Tour de Screwfix, it was a tough ride but for a fantastic cause.
“It’s great that so many Screwfix employees are taking part, hopefully together we can raise a lot of money, we can’t wait to see the total.”
