YOUNGSTERS with physical and learning disabilities now have more to do after a link-up between Imagination Street and Bromsgrove’s Chadsgrove School.
New ‘Fun for All’ groups take place at Imagination Street in Redditch from 9am on Saturdays with the Bromsgrove sessions being held from 11am to 12midday on Mondays.
They are aimed at providing children with disabilities the chance to enjoy the fun and development benefits of the two soft play centres.
There will also be a trained play physiotherapist at both of the sessions to ensure children taking part make the most of the variety of activities available and to help the youngsters’ parents on how to assist them.
Liz Morgan, from Chadsgrove School, said she was a great believer in the physical and mental benefits of play for all children, especially those with disabilities.
“We hope the scheme will be the beginning of a more structured relationship between Imagination Street and the local children who have disabilities.” she added.
Imagination Street has previously hosted groups of children from Chadsgrove and it has also raised funds for a school in the slums of Nairobi in Kenya, which houses more than 900 children – many who are orphaned due to the AIDS epidemic.
Admission is £3 which can be paid on the door – there is no need to book.
