NORTH Bromsgrove High School has been commended by business bosses for an innovative industry partnership which saw tens of students land work placements with a major engineering firm.

The school has forged a strong connection with Birmingham’s ADI Group – contributing to its nomination at the Hereford and Worcestershire Chamber’s Business Awards 2016.

North became the only state school to make the shortlist at the ceremony which took place at the University of Worcester Arena on June 9.

From supporting the school’s GCSE engineering course and sponsoring its World Championships VEX Robotics team – to offering work experience – ADI has played a significant role in the lives of students at NBHS.

Next year, a dozen year ten students will spend time with the organisation to study for a pre-apprenticeship qualification in engineering.

Headteacher David Hadley-Pryce said: “We were delighted to be the only state school shortlisted for the finals from the two counties.

“This reflects the depth and quality of the commitment from ADI Group – and in our third year of partnership we are confident this will only go from strength to strength.

“I believe the opportunities available to our students are superb and I am pleased ADI and North Bromsgrove make a wonderful partnership.”
