REGISTRATION is now open for the 10k road race and run for youngsters which are held in conjunction with Bromsgrove Carnival.
The Timberhonger 10k and Children’s Challenge will take place on the evening of July 11.
There will be a great carnival atmosphere at Sanders Park to welcome the runners as they finish the challenging rural course with its infamous hill at 8,000metres.
This year, there will also be chip timing to ensure everyone gets an accurate race time and Timberhonger t-shirts so participants look fabulous at the finish.
Those who complete the course will receive a medal and – for those who are over 18 – a bottle of beer from Bromsgrove’s Birds Brewery.
Prior to the Timberhonger 10k, the Children’s Challenge fun run around Sanders Park will see youngsters take on the track which is just under a mile. All young runners will also get a carnival medal when they reach the tape.
The events raise funds for three local charities – the Primrose Hospice, the North Worcestershire Basement Project and the Friends of the Princess of Wales Community Hospital and last year, £3,000 was collected.
Entry is £16 for the Timberhonger 10k (£14 for running club members). Runners must be 15 or over. The Children’s Challenge is £6 entry.
