THE ANNUAL charity golf day organised by the Rotary Club of North Worcestershire has been hailed a great success.
The event took place on August 27 at Blackwell Golf Club, and a number of sponsors, organisations and businesses helped raise an impressive £9,000 for good causes.
Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid even dropped in to show his support for the event and this year’s collection will go towards the Voluntary Services Overseas, the Worcestershire based Farmers Overseas Action Group, The Bromsgrove Festival and Victim Support in Worcestershire.
Mr Javid said: “The annual golf day is a fantastic local initiative.
“The Rotary Club provides generous support to many people in our community and further afield.
“I would like to emphasise my thanks to all members of the club for their fantastic organisation, and to all the local people, businesses and organisations who helped make the day.
“This is Bromsgrove at its best.”
The club has raised more than £50,000 in the last 15 years for many local and international charities.
