A STAGGERING £2,552.89 has been raised for the Primrose Hospice by Bromsgrove’s Sainsbury’s Local store, Stourbridge Road, which chose the cause as its Charity of the Year.

Staff have taken part in array of fund-raisers in the last 12 months including a 5k rainbow run, the Birmingham Half Marathon and a first birthday event which included a hog roast.

The store’s supervisor Tom Clark said it had been a pleasure to help the hospice.

“We would like to thank all of our customers for helping us raise so much money and getting behind the events we held over the last year.”

Primrose Hospice’s corporate fund-raiser Kate Kelly said: “I have really enjoyed working with the team at Sainsbury’s Local – they have been very dedicated to the cause, which really shows the amount that has been raised.”

The funds will go towards the day hospice, family support and home services.
