Bromsgrove residents warned of sneak-in thief

Bromsgrove Editorial 6th Jun, 2014 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

A SNEAK-IN thief stole a number of shoes and other footwear from an unlocked porch in Bromsgrove on Tuesday (June 3).

The burglary of the Stonehouse Road home took place between 10.30pm on Tuesday and 7am the following morning.

Det Con Tony Flannagan, from North Worcestershire CID, said it was unusual for items like this to be stolen so it was more likely the thief would have been seen carrying the items away.

He added: “A large proportion of burglaries are sneak-ins and people should be mindful of that, even if they are at home.

“It only takes a thief a few seconds to reach in through an open window or come through an open door to grab valuables and other property.”

Police want to reiterate the importance of keeping doors and windows locked especially with summer now on its way.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should cal 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
