Bromsgrove and Redditch Sorop-timists will hold their AGM on Thursday (April 14) at 7pm.
The meeting takes place at The Southcrest Manor Hotel in Redditch, and new members will be welcome.
During March’s meeting, members were reminded nominations were needed for this year’s officers. Margaret Toole had agreed to remain as president but other posts needed filling.
It was announced that the group’s 50th anniversary plans were taking shape. A charter dinner will be held on October 23 at Hillscourt in Rednal and the possibility of a permanent 50th memorial was discussed.
The pudding event takes place on May 7 when anyone wanting to find out more about Soroptimists – and the things they do locally, nationally and internationally to make life better for women and girls – would be invited.
Another open meeting will be held on June 9 and there will be visits to Madresfield Court on July 7 and Bletchley Park on August 13.
The next book club meeting is on May 19 and the next walking group get-together will be on April 23.
The Soroptomists’ local charity for the year is Night Stop, which provides emergency accommodation for homeless young people between the ages of 16 and 25.
It also helps to equip them with life skills to manage on their own. Grants have been cut and funds are particularly needed to help a young person with basic equipment when setting up home.
