TONIGHT is the night as the Bromsgrove and Redditch Green Party host a thought-provoking film evening at 7.30pm at the Redi Centre.
The event will screen BBC documentary, A Farm for the Future by Rebecca Hoskings, which considers the possible future of farming in a world with diminishing oil.
Green Party campaigner Alistair Waugh said: “Our current food system is in a real pickle and we need to re-think it.
“If oil was ever in short supply, or expensive, then we’d face a significant food security issue.
“The nation has fed itself before on a Dig for Victory attitude, and was probably healthier for it.
“It’s time we re-localised the food system.
“We really can’t rely on a fossil fuel future.”
The free event is open to the public and people are encouraged to bring food for a shared buffet meal.
