THE BROMSGROVE Welcomes Refugees Committee is hosting its latest public meeting at the Council House, at Parkside, at 8pm on Wednesday (February 17).

BWR chair Yvonne Rendell will provide an update on the situation regarding refugees arriving into the county and professor Jenny Phillmore from the University of Birmingham will deliver a keynote talk on refugee integration and the issues involved.

There will also be a joint presentation about life at the Dunkirk and Calais refugee camps from the founder of the Worcestershire charity, People in Motion, and by Standard reporter, Anu Shukla, following her weekend there.

BWR has already arranged Arabic evenings on Tuesdays at St John’s Church Hall and has also worked with more than 100 people who have come forward to help and support the project.
