IT HAS BEEN a month of full on creative power for the Bromsgrove Photographic Society which organised a series of events to inspire photographers from all walks of life.
Following a rocking start to the new year, entries were flying through the door when the society hosted its highly contested Print Competition.
The contest was judged by Tony Thomas, a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society who gave advice on how some of the images could be improved.
Tony, who does a lot of judging all over the Midlands, was impressed with the very high standard of submissions, comparing them with the best in the region.
The society has also been involved with a plethora of workshops including Photoshop with Nigel Taylor, Lightroom Software with Adrian Butt and Basics with Rebekah Nash.
Colin Close hosted a mini studio session to explain lighting and camera settings, while Roger Lewis chaired a workshop which photographed close-ups of various floral arrangements.
There was also a masterclass by Christopher Bradbury, a fellow of the Master Photographer Association on portraiture.
The society welcomed five new members in January and it continues to grow in both size and reputation.
The group always welcomes newcomers interested in the art and craft of photography.
