THE CIVIC Head of the district council and the town’s MP visited the Post Office’s delivery office in Bromsgrove to pass on Christmas greetings to the people who would be sorting and delivering cards and parcels across the district this Yuletide.

Coun Ruck was shown around the office and was introduced to the postmen and women who are working hard in the run-up to Christmas.

Coun Ruck said: “Our postal workers do such an important job at this time of year and help to deliver Christmas for many people and families in our area.

“I would like to thank them for their efforts and wish them all the best over the busy festive period.”

Sajid Javid said: “It was great to meet postmen and women at Royal Mail’s Bromsgrove delivery office and see first-hand just how much effort they put into delivering for people at this time of year.”

David Moreton, the Royal Mail’s delivery office manager at Bromsgrove, and the centre’s delivery manager David Stockford said they were grateful for the two visitors’ show of support at what was the busiest time of the year.

The last recommended posting dates for inland mail are Thursday (December 18) for second class, next Saturday (December 20) and a week on Tuesday (December 23) for Special Delivery.

Customers are urged to post cards and parcel early, use a postcard, put a return address on the back of the envelope and use Special Delivery for valuable packages and parcels – the service enables gifts to be tracked, traced and insured against loss.

Visit www.royalmail.com or call 03457 740 740 for more information about Royal Mail’s last recommended posting dates.
