BROMSGROVE’S MP has paid tribute to the MP who lost her life after a brutal attack in West Yorkshire yesterday (Thursday).

Business Secretary Sajid Javid laid flowers in Parliament Square as he paid his respects to Jo Cox, MP for Batley and Spen, who was shot and stabbed in her constituency.

Mr Javid said: “She was a wonderful woman and very hardworking and effective MP who was full of compassion and cared for everyone.

“I think what has happened is very sad particularly for her husband and young children.

“It is also a sad day for democracy but I hope everyone will learn a bit more about democracy from this, and what it means, so something will come of it.

“I will remember her with great respect.”
