A BROMSGROVE man who sailed through a Warfare Specialist Training Course is now ready to embark of an adventure in the Royal Navy.

Mark Burrell graduated from HMS Collingwood in Hampshire after he completed his training on how to set up and operate the Royal Navy’s systems which provide information to ships on air and surface activities.

The 20-year-old joined the service in July last year for the opportunity to travel the world and is now looking forward to joining his first ship HMS Bulwark.

The former South Bromsgrove School pupil said his career choices had seen him follow in his dad’s footsteps who also served in the armed forces.

Mark said: “It’s been challenging and rewarding.

“I’ve represented the base for Rugby and Eastern Region since I joined, I am hoping to progress this further.

“I’m also looking forward to travelling to the countries I’ve never been to before.”
