Bromsgrove hot shot Ollie is penalty shoot-out king

A BROMSGROVE boy who is just five has notched up an achievement that several England football teams have failed to do in the last few years – win two penalty shoot-outs in a row.

Oliver Dale was in reception at Charford First School when he won the first contest organised by Kidderminster Harriers and held at his school.

He was then put through to the grand final which took place at the Aggborough stadium in the half-time interval of a Harriers game.

He was up against children from 12 other primary schools and, despite many of the participants being twice his age, he proved he was the spot-kick king.

Mel Henderson, Charford First School’s sport leader, said: “It was quite an achievement for Oliver to win the school penalty shoot-out.

“But to then go on and win the grand final against much older children from primary schools is outstanding.

“Everyone at Charford is so proud of him.”
