REAL ALE conniseurs will be raising a glass or three to two charities when an ‘all inclusive’ pre-Christmas beer festival is held at a Bromsgrove pub.
The event, at 6.30pm at The Park Gate Inn, Kidderminster Road, on December 11, will raise funds for Acorns and St Richard’s Hospice.
It will feature up to 20 cask ales donated by local breweries, including Ambridge, Enville, Black Tap, Wye Valley, Woodcote Manor and Mad Dog.
Tickets are £25 which covers all cask ale and a voucher for a pork bap.
There will be drinks other than cask ales, but they will not be included by the £25 ticket.
The event was the brainchild of Jonathan Nowacki from Ambridge Brewery who came up with the idea at the Bromsgrove Beer Festival and spoke to Tim at the Hop Pole in Drotwitch to start the barrels rolling.
Jonathan said he wanted to raise as much money as possible for what were two great charities.
“The main task was finding a venue suitable for the event and Chris Pedley and Dawn Pedley have been kind enough to donate the pub for December 11.
“And so that we could raise as much money as possible, the breweries have donated the casks of beer.”
There will also be live entertainment and festival-goers are welcome to wear their Christmas jumpers.
