BROMSGROVE has the highest number of business start-ups outside London according to the latest figures from StartUp Britain.
In the district, for every 1,000 residents, 29 started their own business between January and June.
The news has been welcomed by MP Sajid Javid, who is also the Secretary of State for Business, Industry and Skills, who said he was delighted with the achievement.
“This goes to show that Bromsgrovians really are at the heart of the Midlands Engine.
“Our entrepreneurs are indispensable for the economic growth of this country.
“Since my election six years ago, I have had the pleasure of visiting many of these start-ups and have been impressed with their unique contributions to the local economy.”
