Bromsgrove groups join forces to help create charity garden

MEMBERS of several community organisations joined forces to help a South Birmingham mum who, despite her own challenging personal circumstances, is doing a lot to help others.

Members of the Bromsgrove Round Table and Ladies’ Circle, along with others from the area, assisted in giving Sarah’s garden a new look.

Sarah lost her eldest son Joseph when he was a baby and ever since then she and her second son Jake have been raising funds for charity in Joseph’s name.

She also, after suffering from a potentially fatal congenital heart disease, is currently recovering from a heart transplant.

Jo-anne Till, from the Bromsgrove Ladies Circle, said: “Over the last few years she has campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and has encouraged many new people to sign up to the organ donor register.

“We heard that her garden was not the best, because her condition meant that she was unable to tend to it.

“It was nice to help out and show what Ladies’ Circle and Round Table can achieve.”

Sarah said: “Thank you so much to all the team for the fantastic work, we appreciate it so much as the garden looks amazing. We’ve lived here for three years and it’s never been done so this summer we can use it. Thanks for all your time.”

Help with the garden makeover was given by Rowberry’s Nursery from Lower Chaddesley Corbett which donated plants, and Redditch-based SE Davis and Sons Ltd. The company gave a donation of topsoil and Carr and Smith Builders Ltd also assisted.

The Ladies’ Circle is open to women aged between 18 and 45 and the Round Table is for men who fall into that age category. It is an opportunity to make new friends, try new experiences, and give something back to their local communities.

Members have fun taking part in a variety of social, cultural and sporting activities, and raise funds for local good causes.
