SEVERAL Bromsgrove organisations will be joining forces in a bid to put together festive food parcels for needy people across the district.

NewStarts will work with The Basement Project, The Bromsgrove Lions, NewSong Community Church and Bromsgrove School to collect items and raise cash to provide the food packages for local people this Christmas.

Collections will begin today (Friday) when members of The Basement Project will be at the town’s ASDA.

Members of Bromsgrove Lions will then be at Morrisons on November 28 and 29.

NewStarts’ chief executive Marion Kenyon said: “It is only through your donations that we will be able to help people so please help us to help others this Christmas.”

Last year more than 200 food parcels were provided for Bromsgrove people who needed them and it is hoped this year’s campaign will generate even more.

Food can also be dropped off at NewStarts, 1 Sherwood Road, Bromsgrove or The Basement Project, Hanbury House, 1 Hanover Street, Bromsgrove.
