A YOUNG George Ezra fan who wrote to her hero as part of a school project was over the moon when her class teacher sent the letter to his record company and she received some music memorabilia back.

Katie Cross, who is eight years old and is in year four at Catshill First School, penned the note as part of her Key Stage 2 home learning music project entitled Playlist.

Without Katie knowing, her teacher Sam Stacy posted the letter to George’s record company and a fortnight later she received two signed posters, a mask, three CDs – his latest singles and album – and a personalised message.

Deputy headteacher Adam Rivett said: “We are very proud of Katie for not only completing a great Home Learning Project, and being a Home Learning Hero, but also for setting a great example to others that doing extra work at home can have exciting rewards.

“We would also like to thank Columbia Records for recognising Katie’s superb writing.” he added.
