BROMSGROVE-based film company, Venomous Little Man (VLM) Productions has scooped the Audience Award for Best Film at this year’s Worcestershire International Film Festival.
The short film, Derelict, won ahead of 30 other films.
It’s the third award the company has won since its inception in 2012.
The film, which tells the story of an ex-combat veteran struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), was filmed in Redditch in April.
Producers, Dave Jeffery and James Hart, and principle actor Graham Woodward, were present to collect the award and held a thirty minute question and answer session.
Dave said: “This film was about raising awareness of PTSD and combat stress, and the impact it has on both the person and their family.
“Receiving this award demonstrates to some extent we have done justice to what is a very sensitive and often neglected issue.”
Derelict has also been endorsed by the Behind the Mask Foundation, a mental health charity, which offers peer support and counselling to those suffering with PTSD.
