THE BROMSGROVE and District Canine Society celebrated its 80th anniversary at its last show held in the town’s All Saints Hall.
There were many special awards and commemorative rosettes and a celebration cake was provided by cup steward Nicky Colson.
The society holds three limited shows throughout the year, which are sponsored by Arden Garage.
Many classes were held in memory of former members and their dogs and prizes were donated generously by the exhibitors.
President Jack Clarke was able to attend from his home in Cheshire and, during the afternoon, made a presentation to retiring secretary Di Morgan, who had been in post for 30 years.
The judge for the afternoon was Denise Barney, from Walsall, who has a long association with the society.
The afternoon was a great success and a very good show for the Becquet and Darby partnership from Southam, who won Best in Show with their Scottish Terrier, and Best Puppy with a Cocker Spaniel.
Reserve Best in Show was Miss and Mrs Elliott’s Pointer from Catshill.
