MORE THAN £14,000, raised for the Primrose Hospice by Bromsgrove’s brightest Christmas lights, has been handed over to the charity.
Finstall residents Wendy and Malcolm Molloy became famous for their traditional annual festive display outside their house which earned them coverage in national newspapers and on TV.
For nine years they have given the community a treat which has been enjoyed by many and, not only have they lit up the faces of their many visitors over the years, but they have also shone through for Primrose Hospice, raising £14,182 for the cause.
The display has been the highlight of many a Christmas in Finstall but unfortunately 2015 was the last lights extravaganza.
Emma Williams, Primrose’s community fund-raiser, said: “Wendy and Malcolm are true stars who have shown amazing and very generous support not only to their local hospice but to other charities too.”
Wendy said “We started to do the christmas lights display to simply have a bit of fun to start with, but then we started to attract a lot of attention and the public were kind enough to donate so that made us want to do more and more.”
Wendy Molloy added “We chose to support the Primrose Hospice as it was the perfect choice, they are local and they support so many people in the area.”
We are all very sad that the light display has now ended and hope it will be appreciated for a long time!
