A BROMSGROVE care home will be throwing open its doors to transport visitors, residents and its staff back to the 1940s, 50s and 60s next weekend.

There will be live vintage music, plenty of bunting and a delicious traditional high tea featuring a variety of finger sandwiches and cakes at Breme Care Home, Providence Road, from 2pm to 4pm next Sunday (October 2).

Everyone is welcome to the event being held to mark ‘Silver Sunday’, a national day which celebrates older people and sees free events organised to combat loneliness and reduce isolation.

The home’s manager Rebecca Rudge said: “Our residents are very excited about welcoming new faces from the community along to embrace a day which celebrates the older generation.

“We would love to see older people from our community coming along to enjoy a special afternoon with us.”
