A GROUP from the Redditch and Bromsgrove Sea Cadet Corps have scooped the top prize in a drill competition.

The nine cadets won the Unarmed section of the Warwickshire District Drill Competition, seeing off ten other units in the process.

They will now progress to the South West Area Drill Competition at HMS RALEIGH where they will face cadets from Wales to Devon.

That takes place in Plymouth this month.

The unit’s spokesperson, Sub Lt (SCC) James Sanders RNR, said: “The team has put a lot of effort into the competition.

“They are now working even harder to ensure there performance is outstanding in March.”

The Redditch and Bromsgrove Sea Cadet Corps is currently recruiting young people aged between ten and 18.
