THE CHAIRMAN of the Bromsgrove branch of UKIP Adrian Smart has been outlining his biggest concerns about staying in the EU ahead of the referendum on June 23.

Mr Smart said: “The EU is no longer just a trading partner – almost every facet of our lives is in some way controlled by the unelected commissioners in Brussels. Parliament is accountable to the EU – who is the EU accountable to?

“The European Countries are not growing economically – the EU is a failing aspiration, we should leave now.”

Mr Smart said leaving the EU would ‘restore democracy’, allowing the UK to ‘write its own laws and trade deals and he highlighted the trade benefits of Brexit.

“We do not have to be in the EU to trade with the EU. We do not have to agree to the free movement of people. Socially, we will be better off by saving £12billion a year.”
