Bromsgrove Blue Cross boss 'disappointed' after charity break-in

THE BOSS of Bromsgrove’s Blue Cross has spoken of his disappointment after burglars broke into the centre and stole cash at the weekend.

The incident happened at some point between 6pm on Saturday (January 10) and 7am on Sunday (January 11).

Manager Neil Edwards said it was especially upsetting as the charity was working so hard to raise funds for its rebuild appeal.

“The police have been informed and so we can’t go into any detail at the moment, although only loose change was taken.”

He added no cash would be kept on site in future whilst the organisation was rebuilding the centre.

The Bromsgrove Blue Cross is currently trying to raise £1.9million for its rebuild on the site in Wildmoor Lane.

That will include a new reception area, newly-refurbished dog kennels and a brand new cattery with dedicated puppy and kitten units as well as a new pet care clinic for pets owned by people on low incomes.

Any witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
