Intruders break into home and steal jewellery

JEWELLERY and cash were stolen by intruders who ransacked a home in Wythall after smashing the glass in the front door.

The raiders broke into the house on The Spinney, between 8.15am and 8.45pm, on November 18, using an unknown instrument to strike the panels of the back door and make a whole big enough to put a hand through to turn a key on the other side.

They then riffled through the owner’s belongings in the lounge and main bedroom where they found the jewellery and money. A pillowcase was also taken which police was used to carry the items out of the house.

Officers suspect the thieves used the neighbour’s flat roof shed to gain access to the victim’s garden which was hidden by trees.

Anyone with any information on the above crime is urged to call police on the non emergency 101 number or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
