TEAMS from primary schools across Bromsgrove and south Birmingham will do battle at a Tag Rugby World Cup Festival being held in Hopwood on  Friday (June 26).

The seven-a-side tournament where teams will have a minimum of two of each gender will take place at Kings Norton RFC to celebrate the Rugby World Cup which takes place in England in September.

Each team has been given a country to represent and among the schools taking part are Colmers Farm (England), St Laurance A, B and C (Australia, Tonga and Ireland), Lickey Hills Primary (Uruguay), Northfield Manor (Georgia), Rednal Hill (Canada), The Meadows A and B (USA and France) and Hollywood (Wales).

All children will receive a medal, programme and item from the barbecue and there will be individual accolades for those demonstrating rugby values.

Everyone is welcome to go along and watch the action – the contest starts at 10am with the pool matches and ends at 2.30pm with the presentation and barbecue.
