BLACKWELL Concert Band will be helping residents get into the seasonal spirit and raising cash for a good cause when they perform a charity Christmas concert at St Andrew’s Church, Barnt Green, next Saturday (November 28).
The event, which starts at 7.30pm, will see the group joined by its training band and all funds raised will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Secretary Vicky Stock, who organises a charity concert every year for the band, has been through breast cancer treatment twice while still only in her 30s and is now receiving treatment for advanced cancer in her bones.
She said “I have found Macmillan a great source of information and support in the past and the band were only too happy to support the charity by hosting fund-raising concerts every year.”
