HANBURY residents have been invited to meet The Archers actress Sara Coward and have a quacking good time at Jinney Ring’s ‘Animals R Magic’ day.

The annual family fun day, being held in aid of The Cinnamon Trust, will take place next Sunday (July 19) at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre, on Hanbury Road.

Sara Coward, who plays Caroline Stirling, will be attending the event between 11am and 5pm. As a passionate dog lover and owner she is keen to help raise awareness of the unique charity which seeks to relieve the anxieties, problems, and sometimes injustices, faced by elderly and terminally ill people and their pets.

The Archers is set in the fictional village of Ambridge which is based on Hanbury.

Sara is also the author of a book called Dialogues with my Dog which will be on sale during the day. Anyone who has a dog or a Lurcher in particular will find this book amusing and relatable.

Visitors will be able to meet dogs, llamas, ponies and many more animals at the craft centre’s gardens and field which will also be hosting impressive agility, gundog and flyball demonstrations.

There will also be more than 40 charity and trade stalls, a barbecue and games for the whole family, along with plenty of other activities throughout the day.

Visitors have been invited to bring their own pets along to take part in the novelty dog show and scurry as well as donkey rides and the ferret racing.

And police mascot Peeler will be making a special appearance as will the Scruffts 2015 winner Gracie.

Trainee rescue dog Dyno will accompany search and rescue vehicles and a rescue boat will be moored in the pond.

Amanda Sunter, Jinney Ring’s owner, said: “I love animals and cannot wait for another fun packed family day to celebrate the joy animals bring to our lives.

“It is a pleasure to be able to support charities like The Cinnamon Trust who do so much for the welfare of animals and people alike.”

The entrance fee will be £2 for adults and £1 for children and all the proceeds will go to The Cinnamon Trust.
