A CHARITY ball to raise funds for Bromsgrove charity Libby Mae’s Little Angels is being held at the Burlington Hotel, New Street, Birmingham, next Saturday (July 26).

The event, hosted by Free Radio’s Jo and Sparky, begins with a pink champagne reception at 6.30pm and also features a three-course meal with wine, an auction and raffle and entertainment by Paola Verse, acoustic duo Discovered and retro girl band The Glamophones.

The dress code for the evening is black tie and glamour ‘with a hint of pink’.

Libby Mae’s Little Angels was started by Bromsgrove couple Charlotte and Richard Sharratt in memory of their daughter Libby Mae who was born at Birmingham Women’s Hospital, but passed away two weeks later.

Libby Mae had a rare condition whereby a vein between her left lung and her heart did not develop properly.

Ths charity has so far collected almost £65,000 to pay for equipment for neo-natal units all over the Midlands.

And there has been some more great news for the couple – the pair are expecting a baby boy who is due on November 20.

Charlotte told The Standard: “It’s a really exciting time – both for us and the charity.

“The support people have shown has been amazing and we are hoping to see lots of people at the ball next Saturday.”

For more information or tickets to the ball, which are £55, visit www.libbymaeslittleangels.com or call 07584 019334.
