All aboard at the Wythall Transport Museum

VISITORS flocked to Wythall’s Transport Museum over the bank holiday weekend to take rides out on classic buses, see vehicle exhibitions and to board the miniature steam railway.

In addition to the usual attractions, Firstbus Worcestershire sent along a brand new bus to show how things had changed over the last 100 years and to launch a competition for local schools which challenges pupils to design the buses of the future.

That contest, as reported in The Standard, will see the best designs buried in a time capsule after the close of the competition next Easter.

The container will then be dug up and re-opened in Easter 2066 to see if any of the ideas had been ‘taken on board’.

There will be further fun for all the family on the buses at the bank holiday weekend at the end of the month – May 29 to 30.

Visit www.wythall.org.uk for more on the museum or go to www.wythall.org.uk/2066 for details and entry forms for the 2066 project.
