AN ELDERLY woman had her bank cards stolen from her during a distraction theft in Rubery on Saturday (August 1).

The incident, involving the 83-year-old, took place in New Road about 12.45pm when she was approached by a foreign man and woman.

The pair, who were Eastern European, went up to her and the man produced a map and asked for directions.

While this was happening, the woman stood next to the victim.

When the elderly woman got home she realised her bank cards had been taken out of the pocket of the combat trousers she had been wearing.

The man was very smartly dressed and was wearing a dark suit. He was of stocky build and did not have any hair.

The woman had dark hair and was 5ft 4ins tall and of medium build. She was aged around 40 and was wearing a white mac with a belt.

The victim then reported it to her bank and the police.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
