A TOTAL of £767 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support by Bromsgrove Motorcycle Club.
And the cash was handed over on Monday at the group’s headquarters at the Wychbold Legion Inn.
The club raises money every year from a variety of fund-raising activities and this year’s chosen cause was Macmillan because long-standing and popular member Chris Cox recently lost his battle with cancer.
His widow Jackie bravely decided she would donate many of his motorcycle-related possessions to be sold at the club’s annual bring and buy sale where auctioneer and founding member Keith Bush managed to sell a large number of goods on the night.
The remaining items were sold by fellow founding member Peter Maskell who used his old market trading skills to good effect, including setting up a clothes rail outside his house.
The handing over of the cheque this week followed a successful night where an American supper was enjoyed by 50 members and their guest.
