A SALES assistant was threatened with a pair of scissors during a raid in Bromsgrove.

The incident took place about 3.45pm on Wednesday (November 5) when the man entered the business on Carlyle Road, Aston Fields.

He demanded the 64-year-old open the till and then took all the cash from there before walking around to the other side of the counter and putting cigarettes into the drawstring bag he was carrying. He also took six bottles of alcohol before leaving.

It is unknown how much cash or how many cigarettes had been taken.

The raider was 6ft tall, of slim build, and was wearing a black balaclava, black jacket and jeans.

It is believed he was with another man. He was white with strawberry blonde hair, was in his late teens or early 20s and was wearing jeans and a hooded top.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who may have seen any suspicious activity, or two men carrying bottles of alcohol.”

Anyone with any information should call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
