Drayton Manor and Thomas Land - a fun time for all the family

PARENTS and play leaders are always looking for places to take youngsters to in the holidays – if you want a fantastic day out for a variety of ages, Drayton Manor and Thomas Land is a great place to consider.

The great thing about the theme park is there is now a range of attractions that literally appeal to everyone.

For the younger ones, there is Thomas Land which, has been impressively extended for this season with a number of new rides added. Thanks to the new additions, Thomas Land now has close to 20 attractions.

From the daring Troublesome Trucks and Rocking Bulstrode to the gentle Blue Mountain Engines and Sodor Classic Cars, you will find something for your child to enjoy whatever their age.

All children love soft play and the Thomas the Tank Engine-themed one there will delight toddlers and children up to eight whether they are avid fans of the energetic engine or not.

Not only that, the most impressive addition is the Thomas Land VIP experience, which has the potential to take children’s parties to a new level.

There are a number of private rooms, complete with balcony and complementary refreshments throughout the day, which can be hired out.

Party-goers would be able to meet in them for the traditional singing of Happy Birthday, the blowing out of the candles and to have lunch, before heading back out to enjoy the theme park’s attractions.

But, having enjoyed the hospitality offered, it struck us that the rooms had a lot more to offer than that.

They would also be great for families or larger groups of people to hire out so they’ve got a base when they visit Drayton Manor.

Should the party have babies or young toddlers who are prone to tiredness, those guests could retire there for a break, while the rest of the party explore the park.

And, by teaming up with others, you could split the cost and make it a reasonable fun day out for all the family.

Or, of course, if you wanted to make your visit more than a day out, there is also the hotel accommodation and campsite which enables you to extend your stay.

The level of entertainment provided by Drayton Manor and Thomas Land has never been in any doubt.

As well as the train-themed fun, there is also the main theme park which already has a fantastic reputation.

That, like Thomas Land, has attractions and rides for all tastes – from the more gentle Carousel and Jolly Buccaneer to the daring Air Race, Apocalypse, Shockwave and Maelstrom.

For those who like getting wet, there is Stormforce 10 and the Grand Canyon and for those who like a fright, there is The Haunting.

And let’s not forget the 4D cinema which at the moment is showing a laugh-out-loud Yogi Bear film.

That really brings the famous Jellystone Park character and sidekick Boo Boo to life as you are sprayed with water and air, bounced around on movable chairs and seeing the action jump out of the screen at you.

So, when you are thinking about providing a day to remember for your children during the summer holidays, don’t forget Drayton Manor and Thomas Land.

If you are going to go, make sure you get there early, as you will struggle to fit so many attractions into your day.

Whether you go for the day, hire out a VIP room or have an extended stay at the hotel or campsite, you will not be disappointed.
